Cathy

Treatment Coordinator

Cathy graduated top of her dental assisting class earning her the 1978 Dental Assisting Proficiency Award in Mississauga, ON. Cathy joined Dr. Van Ryswyk in 1989 and she has enjoyed the growth and change of a practice that strives to remain current and leading edge.

In 1992, with 14 years chair side experience, she expanded her duties upon completion of a Level II Preventive Dental Assisting program to pursue a satisfying role providing continuing care for young patients. She often surprises parents who doubt their young child's co-operation for a dental visit by making the visit positive, fun and successful.

Today you will find Cathy providing preventive care for children, taking impressions, and assisting patients in developing effective home care programs to support their oral health. She finds helping patients understand their dental treatment needs and options as rewarding as seeing them celebrate improved oral health.

From helping manage dental emergencies and treatment follow up visits, to before and after photography, Cathy credits the appreciative patients, and the variety of her position for keeping her engaged and satisfied in her role for over 29 years.

Cathy's family has lived in our Pond Mills neighbourhood for over 30 years.

Melissa

Receptionist / Dental Assistant

Melissa is a graduate of the Dental Assisting program at Canadore College in North Bay.  After working in the hospitality industry for a few years, Melissa found her way to London to persue her Dental Assisting career

Melissa came to join Dr. Karin's team in October 2014 and is very grateful for the opportunity to work with such wonderful people.  Melissa started working as a dental assistant for a maternity leave, and and has graduated to permanent full time working as receptionist and dental assistant.  We are so happy to have her!

When Melissa is not working she enjoys riding her motorcycle, spending time with her pets and exploring the under water world while she scuba dives. 

Alana

Receptionist

Alana is a member of our reception team and was born and raised in London.
Alana attended the Dental Assisting program at Medix College and graduated in January 2012. Since then she has been an active member with the ODAA. 

When not in the office you can find Alana spending time with her family and friends at our local Backyard Axe Throwing League (BATL). She also enjoys travelling and walking her Pomeranian.

Leah

Receptionist

Leah joined out team in August 2020 with over 25 years of experience as dental receptionist. She started her career at the Schulich adult dental clinic before moving to a private practice. She enjoys meeting and greeting patients along  with helping to make evryone's experience here a good one. When she is not in the office, she can be found enjoying time with family, golfing, and when allowed again, travelling.

Jennie

Dental Hygienist

Jennie has been working with Dr. Van Ryswyk since 2002. A graduate of Georgian College for both Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene- she has been in the profession since 1997.

Jennie works Tuesday to Thursday with Dr Karin. Like the rest of the team - Jennie prides herself on the strong periodontal program at the office. Overall health and wellness are a genuine interest. She loves the interaction she has with a dynamic group of patients and colleagues!

Jennie brings a smile and a very positive disposition that enhances our strong team atmosphere. Jennie is married and is the proud mom of two beautiful girls.

Tanya

Dental Hygienist

After obtaining her Dental Assisting certificate in 2007 from Springfield Technical Community College, Tanya chose to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene. 

In 2009 Tanya graduated from the University of Bridgeport, CT with her Dental Hygiene Degree.  Shortly after graduation Tanya moved from Connecticut to London and started a family here. 

Tanya is married and the proud Mom of 3 young children.  In her spare time Tanya loves travelling, cooking and baking with her family. 

She has also volunteered with humanitarian aid missions in 2nd and 3rd world countries and enjoys being a friendly face to those she works with and cares for.
